I just want to say a few things I've learned about people thru training and teaching martial arts. First off I think a lot of us Westerners have a misconception of what training is and how to gain the most benefits from it. Further more we come from busy lives , work , family and social obligations take a lot of our time. Were always looking for the fastest way to do things but when it comes to Kung Fu, there is no fast way and you're only going to get what you put in. During my time in China there was moments where I thought things were too slow paced but after opening my mind and giving a honest try to my Shifu's lessons I began to understand the importance of patience and diligence. I've seen a lot of people come thru Kunyu Shan, thinking it as a vacation or feeling they paid good money they should have learned more but those people did not have the right mentality to reap the benefits of training so they gave negative reviews which is fine , that's their opinion, but I don't think any serious martial artists left there feeling completely unfulfilled. I've dealt with the same types of people at my school. They miss the point of training and focus on comfort or expectations of a skill being attained in an unrealistic amount of time. I've tested and tried what I learned in real scenarios and while I was happy with the results, I'll admit there was no fancy Hollywood appearance that most people expect , but I did prevail. Ultimately your teacher can only open the door, it's up to you to walk thru it!

Robert Downey Jr. - Iron Man to most of us - apparently began experimenting with drugs as a child, smoking joints before he’d turned 10. He spent most of the next two decades struggling with addiction, racking up arrests and parole violations along with a 180 day prison sentence thanks to his drug habit.
Having tried almost everything, including multiple attempts at rehab, he finally turned to Wing Chun practice.
A year into his training, Downey talked about the incredible change his training had made in his life during an appearance on Oprah.
“Martial (arts) has just been... I can’t even say how much it’s impacted my ability to stay well and focused,” the star said on the show. “It’s a spiritual practice. It’s grounded me and its primary purpose is to promote a sense of spiritual warriordom and to respect your society and to be prepared to defend yourself and your society if necessary.”
