The Hammond Yankees 9U Softball - Akers hit the field Sunday for the USSSA Capitol Start Up!

This will be our girls’ first 9U kid-pitch tournament, so we’re excited to watch them learn, compete, grow, and have some fun!

🥎🔥 WELCOME COACH KASSIDY RIVERO! 🔥🥎

We are excited to officially welcome Coach Kassidy Rivero to our staff as a Skills Coach!

Coach Kassidy has been involved in softball nearly her entire life, beginning at just 4 years old. She went on to compete at the elite national travel level with Hotshots National and D1VISION before completing an outstanding career at Doyle High School.

Kassidy began playing varsity softball as a 7th grader and became one of the most accomplished players in Doyle softball history. Her career culminated with a 2025 State Championship, after multiple deep postseason runs throughout her high school career.

🔹 2025 State Champion & 5× District Champion
🔹 Multiple-Time All-State, All-District, All-Parish & All-Metro

Coach Kassidy is currently attending LSU, where she is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

We are excited for our young athletes to have the opportunity to learn from someone with Kassidy's experience and knowledge of the game. She will work alongside our coaching staff with an emphasis on fundamentals, skill development, confidence, and helping our girls grow as softball players.

What an AWESOME night with our Hammond Yankees 9U – Akers family! ❤️🤍💙🥎

Tonight we officially kicked off a brand-new season with our Meet & Greet and Contract Signing, and we couldn't be more excited about this group of girls and families!

Tonight wasn't about practices, games, wins, or losses. It was about bringing everyone together, having some fun, and beginning to build the relationships and friendships that will make this team special.

We're not just putting together a softball team—we're building a family. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents and families for coming out and making tonight such a great time. The support, excitement, and energy surrounding this group already has us fired up for what's ahead!

These girls are officially Hammond Yankees, and now it's time to get to work!

Here's to new teammates, new friendships, lots of memories, and an incredible 2026–2027 season!

A HUGE congratulations to three of our Hammond Yankees 9U Softball - Akers players on bringing home the 8U Purple Bracket Championship at the 2026 Louisiana USSSA All-State Games!
