Hammond Optimist Youth Sports has teamed up with Diamond Plate Pub & Eatery for a Pizza Party Fundraiser. This fundraiser includes Pizza, House Salad, Chips & Salsa, Pretzel Bite Platter, Corn Dog Platter and Soda Pitchers. Alcohol Drinks are available for purchase. Ticket price is $10.

Available at Diamond Plate are Sports Simulator Bays and Duckpin Bowling Lanes.

Hammond Optimist Youth Sports has teamed up with the Hammond Optimist Club to have a Bourbon & Tequila Tasting Fundraiser at the Hammond Optimist Club's Clubhouse. This fundraiser includes food from Byway Brewery or Freddy's Steakhouse. There are two ticket prices to choose from. The Bourbon & Tequila tasting price is $40.00. For non-drinkers the price is $25 which includes food and a cash bar is available. This is an adult only (21 and over) event. Tickets will be purchased at the door.

RSVPs are required. If you want to attend, please call Doyle at 219-231-5252 to RSVP.

Evaluations have concluded. Drafts will be occurring soon.

The evaluations for this Saturday have been postponed to Saturday, March 21st due the impending bad weather for this Saturday, March 14th. The schedule will stay the same except for the start time for the Babe Ruth evaluations. Babe Ruth will start at 1:00 P.M. We will still have in-person signups in the press box from noon to 2:00 P.M.

Below is the revised 2026 Hammond Optimist Youth Sports (HOYS) baseball and softball Evaluation schedule for Saturday, March 21st. The evaluations will be held at our park on fields 1, 2, 3, 4 and/or 5 and the Babe Ruth North Field(s).

The first in-person signup for the 2026 Softball and Baseball Spring/Summer is this Thursday, February 5th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hyde Park Church, 6348 Harrison Avenue, Hammond, IN (use the entrance off of Cleveland Street).

We will have I-pads at the in-person sign-ups for you to use or you can use your phone. During in-person signups, we will be able to assist you with any questions you may have. Plus, you will be able to see sample uniform sizes. In-person signup payments can be made with cash, check, credit/debit card or you can turn in the Hammond Sports Voucher. All in-person signups this year will be held in our press box at our park or at Hyde Park Church, 6348 Harrison Avenue, Hammond, IN (use the entrance off of Cleveland Street).

Hammond Optimist Youth Sports is having a Fundraiser in conjunction with the retailer Five Below. The Fundraiser will run from February 1st through February 15th. Print the Five Below Fundraiser flier and take it with you when you go to Five Below. To activate the fundraiser, when you check out, hand the fundraiser flier to the cashier and Five Below will donate 10% of your purchase to Hammond Optimist Youth Sports.

Our 2026 Signup Flier:

All 2026 signups will be on-line only again. We will have in-person signups to assist with any questions you may have with the on-line signup process. During in-person signup you can see uniforms sizing samples and payments can be made with credit or debit card, check, cash or Hammond's Sports Voucher. Payments for non-in-person signups will only be with credit or debit card.

In-person signups will be at either Optimist Park in our Press Box or Hyde Park Church. See flier for in-person sign-up dates and locations.
