What a way to cap off and incredible season!!!! Hammond Yankees 10U Softball - Akers showed up and played their absolute best softball of the season when their back were against the wall. With a slow start in pool play, a first round bracket win, and then a second round bracket loss, these ladies found themselves fighting to survive in the losers bracket. Fight they did!!! After a 6 hour rain delay, they turned it on, winning 3 games in a row to make it to the championship... ultimately falling short to a well deserving Gulf Coast Viper10U - Richardson. Incredibly proud of these young ladies and their hard work!

Our girls are headed to the USSSA-Fastpitch Softball Gulf Coast National Championship. All the hours and hours of practice and numerous days playing at tournaments all come together for this one last event. Be sure to follow us on GameChanger.

It’s true that organizations don’t make the players. So what we strive to do in the Hammond Yankee Organization is hire and surround our players with the best coaches possible. Coaches who concentrate on the total player, including their ability to learn the game correctly, their well-being, safety, emotional growth on field and off the field, as well as teaching them how to be leaders as young men and women. We strive to surround them with real men and women who are up to that task. We place coaches in positions who will put players first and not their need for personal accomplishments. We will strive to empower young athletes through training programs that enhance skill and sportsmanship, fostering excellence both on and off the field. We also have some big changes starting with the deal we made to make Hammond America the official practice facility of the Hammond Yankees and moving forward we are implementing just as many off-field programs as on-field programs.

If you’d like to give us a chance for the 2024-2025 season, we’d love to see you at one of our many try-outs.

Hammond Yankees 10U Softball - Akers went 5-1 at the Louisiana USSSA Fastpitch Softball C-State Championship and brought home 2nd place out of 16 teams this weekend. These girls played some phenomenal ball against some great competition. Congratulations to the Baton Rouge Mudbugs on a well deserved championship!
