Day two of competition went by smoothly! We loved getting to meet the folks that came to spectate and learn more about the sport.

Tomorrow is a rest day for the horses (those that aren’t being used for the belt testing), and then official competition begins again on Friday.
The weekend may possibly begin closer to 8am to beat the heat.

Day 1 of competition is finished, and it went smoothly! Everyone was finding their mojo after the winter break, we had some great training sessions, and tomorrow we do it all over again!

9am start time at 362 Fish Hatchery rd in Hamilton! Come by and watch! We are running 3 heats, and each one takes approximately an hour to run through.

The countdown has started! Just over a week until the first competition of the season! We’d love to have you out to spectate and get involved in the sport. Coming to competitions is a great way to meet a lot of archers in the community and get connected in the sport if you’ve been wanting to try it out!

First competition of the season is July 21-22. Come hang out with us!

The competition season here in the Bitterroot Valley starts next week!
If you’ve ever been interested in horseback archery, this is the perfect opportunity to come see how it works, meet some archers, and get connected in the amazing community!

Bow maintenance day!
All 3 bows got waxed strings and looked over to make sure they’re all in tip top shape for this season!
From left to right:
30 # Falcon (plain wood color)
28 # Falcon (black with horn inlay)
30 # Phoenix (black with red accent)

All 3 were brought over from Kassai Valley in Hungary!
The 28 # was my very first bow, brought to me by one of my trainers when she went over for a Judge’s Meeting. Brand new at the time! (2019) It has a really nice horn inlay in the handle.
The other two were ones I bought last year (2025), both used. I wanted to upgrade the poundage, so I opted for 30 # bows, and also decided I wanted to try out a Phoenix! The Phoenix was owned by someone in Hungary, so I had to network a bit (paid a friend who lives in Hungary to get it, and then another trainer was going over for the Judge’s Meeting and picked it up to bring home for me), but got it all sorted out and brought back to the US!
I absolutely love these bows. 🏹💪🏼

The orange strings on the two Falcon models were made by one of my coaches, Kelner Horsemanship! Now I’ve gotta get one for the Phoenix 😉
