B1st Athletic Performance Training

B1st Athletic Performance Training The sports performance training programs we provide are all individualized for one specific athlete’s needs, as well as the demands of the sport(s) they play.

This is accomplished by having each new athlete/client undergo one of our complete assessments. Our sports performance team obtains crucial information about the athlete: their sport and training experience, any relevant injury history; and the movement assessment delivers information about static posture, joint ranges of motion, and various movement patterns.

B1st Performance has suspended all operations at Gametime Performance effective Sunday November 12,2017. We have identified new locations in the immediate area to relocate and start operations asap. Thank you to all that supported B1st throughout 2016 and 2017. We were blindsided by the news GTP was closing the doors effective December 1,2017. We will announce our relocation site via social media and email blast so stay tuned.

Warmest regards

Mia Land () has officially graduated from the DB Goblet Squat and is now taking on the 2KB Squat! She’s been working hard the past month and has earned that right. Not to mention her form is 👌🏼🔥⭐️. Great work, Mia!

Check out this video of Connor and Olympic Gold Medalist, Amanda Elmore (), going over one of our favorite exercises: Hi Plank Shoulder Taps! This is a great exercise to increase pelvic and core control. Try it out and let us know what you think. —

Try this out if you're having trouble being explosive with your heidens/ice skater jumps! ・・・
Today's installment of the 13th is about the half kneeling lateral Heiden or ice skater jump. This is a great drill that teaches frontal plane power development. This video will show the proper setup/execution and improper setup. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Part 1 - this is a powerful base of support. In order to develop frontal plane power, we need to create a negative shin angle that dictates the direction of our force application. This wider BoS allows us to get into a better position, without out actual "knee Valgus". You set up with the front foot slightly outside the front knee, so that the we can obtain the negative shin angle. This allows us to produce force laterally. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Part 2 - this demonstrates a straight up half kneeling position, but with a narrow base of support. This position doesn't allow the athlete to create that negative shin angle, laterally. Since the knee/shin cannot get to that position, we then can primarily only create force vertically. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
