𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧:

There has been a rash of vehicle burglaries/thefts in the region within the past few weeks. The Hamel Police Department is once again warning its residents about leaving Keys, and Valuables in their unlocked motor vehicles and the dangers this practice presents for not only the individual victim but our entire community.

As we have previously stated, these individuals are most likely dangerous, often armed, and will not hesitate to shoot vehicle owners when confronted. We all must work together to keep these subjects out of our community and can do that by following these simple rules:

• Lock your car doors

• Don’t leave valuables such as purses, wallets, currency, guns,
laptops in your vehicles

• Never leave your car keys in your vehicle

• Immediately report suspicious activity to the police as it is
occurring

The Hamel Community Center will again be the polling place for the Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 3rd from 6 am to 7 pm.

The last day to register to vote at the Village Hall is Tuesday, Oct. 6th. Grace period registration is available at the County Clerk’s office from Wednesday, October 7th to Monday, November 2nd.

Early voting takes place from Monday, Oct 19th to Monday, Nov. 2nd. For early voting locations, to request a ballot by mail, and more information visit the Madison County Clerk’s site at https://www.madisonvotes.com.
