Many of you know that I have taken a new position at the Cheshire YMCA as the Branch Executive Director.

Unfortunately that means that I have to hang up my youth coaching hat.

Thank you to all of the athletes, parents, sponsors and race directors who supported NYTT over the years. All of you hold a fond place in my heart.

BIG NEWS for NYTT.

We are joining forces with Jeff Boyer and B Athletic Multisport

Jeff and I have worked along side each other for many years to grow youth participation in triathlon.

I am looking forward to a great 2023 season and getting to know my new teammates.

We are inviting all kids who would take part in the duathlon tomorrow to come and run the Fit for a Lifetime 5 k at the same location (350 Collinsville Road), at 8:30 a.m. We are not going to be offering the duathlon, but they will still have the fun of being challenged on a beautiful course and the thrill of reaching a professional finish line. Each finisher will get to break the winner's tape, something they might never get the opportunity to do! They will each still get a goody bag, race t-shirt, bib, finisher medal, free finish photo, yummy refreshments, their name and time in the results, a chance to stand on the podium and win a trophy, and an opportunity to win a raffle prize.
I hope that each of you parents also takes part in the Fit for a Lifetime 5 k! You can register on the same registration page - https://kidswhotrisucceedduathlonandfitforalifetime5k.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=15519 or on race day.

We had to cancel tomorrow’s Kids Who Tri Succeed Triathlon because I was notified yesterday that the bacteria level in the water is excessively high. We're hoping to offer a duathlon in Farmington in the fall .....I'll keep you posted! - Coach Rebecca

Give your teenage kids (13 - 18 - year-olds) the opportunity to take part in a 7-week running program I'm coaching, in which I will help each participant with running form and technique as well as coach the group through different fun and effective running training sessions. The small group (SPACE IS LIMITED) will also be coached through running-specific strength exercises. The sessions are on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:45 pm from July 18th through to August 29th. Contact me if you would like to register your child for the entire program or for a drop-in session!
Below are two NYTT athletes I have coached for many years, having fun on the way to a PR for each!!

Sean and Abigail stole the show tonight🥇🥈!

These 12 year old teammates/besties were neck and neck for 1st and 2nd place overall in the Super Sprint all race.

In the end Sean finished just 16 seconds ahead, and when he came to claim his prize (a free Lake T shirt) he asked me if he could give it to Abigail because he already had one 🥹

How’s that for sportsmanship🥰!

Korene Varano spent years of her life bouncing between school and hospitals, living in constant pain, until she made a choice to have her leg amputated. Then, she decided to do triathlons.

I love when my two tri teams get together for practice :)
