It was a freezing night around Christmas last year. I was sitting alone at my desk, anxious about the amount of projects I was trying to wrap up before the new year, and depressed about the impending winter.

It suddenly dawned on me: I’m getting older and have never had a dog. What tf am I doing??

I immediately texted one of my best friends and asked where she got her Goldens. My husband was not a fan of dogs, but I was at an emotional breaking point. I had dreamed about a Golden Retriever all my life, and desperately wanted a puppy, even if it sounded crazy and unrealistic with two little kids at home.

I was told that Sally was part of a “secret” litter—no one had dibs on any of the pups yet, and this was likely her mama’s final pregnancy. There were only 2 girls…and Sal’s personality immediately meshed with mine and what I thought would be a good fit for the family.

Turns out this pup is everything I (we’ve!!) dreamed of, and more. She’s calm, sweet, patient, and an absolute love bug. And—what I never expected—the entire energy of our household has shifted in the best way. Everyone loves her (yes, even my husband 🥹) and I finally get why they say that we don’t deserve dogs. 💕

Life has been lifein and I’m just so happy it’s spring.

I think it’s a good thing when life’s a little boring. So here’s some photographic proof of just that. 💕

We’re so proud of our Sallygirl! Second TV appearance and she held her own out there (she’s Emerging Market!! #6–real-life winner of the 2026 Louisiana Derby and has odds of 15-1 for Saturday).

So grateful for the opportunity to get our golden girlie on the big stage with some of her littermates with . As first-time doggy owners, Sally has been the perfect fit for our family and then some. 🥹🥰

I left last year burned out and unsure about where to go with...a lot of things in life. So this year, I’ve been rebuilding slowly, intentionally, and actually enjoying it again.

The Run watch has Marathon Mode and Ghost Mode for when I’m ready to chase something. Right now I’m just using it to show up. And the Suunto Spark open earphone are light and don’t budge and the sound is great.

Sometimes getting out of your own way is the only way forward.

If you’re in a rebuilding season too — I see you. Just keep showing up for yourself. That’s enough. 🤍

48h in Boston during one of the best weekends of the year. Cup = filled. 💕

I’m headed back home today to see my babies, but Boston weekend is always one of the most fun and exhausting events all year. After personally having a really rough race one year ago, proud to say I’m leaving feeling MUCH happier and fulfilled than 364 days ago.

Go have a day out there tomorrow, Boston!! 💛💙

Low quality photo but high quality experience. If it’s not fun, then WHAT’S THE GD POINT?!

✨18:44 at the BAA 5k✨

11” road PR (VERY close to my track PR)
And 46” faster than March

What a wild ride the past 4 months have been. I left 2025 feeling broken, depressed, and confused about a lot of things in life. I’ve spent this year focused on my mental health, holding my friends and family close, and figuring out if I actually love running.

Spoiler: I do. And sometimes you just need to feel unrecognizable to yourself in order to rewrite exactly who you are.

I ran most of this 5k scared of blowing up, but with a mile to go, let myself throw down and have a little fun. Maybe the most effortless and fun 5k I’ve ever run in my life. 🥹

This was confirmation that there’s a lot more to give, but it really doesn’t get better than this. So soaking this in…and then it’s back to work. 🐅

I turn 39 next week. 🎈

Getting slower with age doesn’t have to be the script. ✨

Most runners assume the trajectory only goes one way after a certain age. But what I see with my coaching and with myself: improvement doesn’t just mean running more, ESPECIALLY as we age.

It’s about eating enough to support the work.
Lifting heavy without fear.
Reprogramming the belief that smaller is faster.
Getting sleep, and adjusting when you can’t.

And, of course, strides. They’re not just an optional filler at the end of an easy run. They teach your body (and mind!) how to move fast. You cannot race at a speed you never practice.

Strength. Power. Speed.

To be a better runner, be a better athlete.

Happy Boston Marathon weekend, to all those who celebrate! 💙💛

Boston (and spring marathon training) starts NOW!

Most people try to grind through winter alone—skipping workouts when it’s dark, second-guessing their fueling strategy, showing up to race day hoping it all comes together.

Training with a group changes that. You show up because others are, too. You have two committed coaches who care. You have support dialing in the details before it matters.

Brittany and I are running a Boston-specific group coaching program for anyone racing Boston or a race that’s 1 week before/after Boston (4/20.) Custom programming, strength training, bi-weekly calls, dietitian support with , and a community doing the exact same thing you are.

Enrollment closes mid-January. Pricing drops every week through the rolling enrollment.

If you’re running Boston, this is how you get through winter training without burning out.
