Our grand opening and first promotions in our new home. Thanks to all who took the time to train and celebrate with us on Sunday. Much love to you all. Tamo Junto!
Michelle (Blue Belt) turned a professional slump into an opportunity to train BJJ four to five times a week. Almost overnight, she became more aggressive, technical, and focused. She used to battle a “fight or flight” response when under pressure, but she has worked through it and finally slayed that demon.
Tyler (Purple Belt) is incredibly strong. As a white and blue belt, he found immediate success on the mats. Once he learned to put his strength second to technique, his BJJ skills skyrocketed, taking him to an entirely different level. He is also an “OG” and a true bedrock of Tamo Junto.
Jacob (Purple Belt) credits much of his ability to overcome challenges to his time in the military. He is a natural problem solver. Once he understands a technique, he owns it—he will never ask the same question twice. That makes him incredibly frustrating to deal with on the mats!
Kelly (Purple Belt) is not only a pillar of our program; she is our rock and the champion of our women’s program. Her ability to grind through hardship, keep a level head, and still laugh at herself is reflected in the way she approaches the mats. She leads by example and embodies the resilience we want to see in everyone who trains with us.
Andy (Brown Belt) is an incredible athlete, but his greatest strength is his mind. He literally rolls without emotion or attachment to winning or losing. That freedom allows him to explore his jiu-jitsu, experiment, and improve at an incredible pace. He is also a great teammate and plays a key role in running our kids program.
