Life gets busy.

Between work, training, running a business, and everything else life throws at you, it’s easy to let quality time slip away.

Today we made time for each other with a hike at Cleburne State Park. No phone reception, no deadlines, no distractions—just fresh air, good conversation, and time together.

Fitness isn’t just about building a stronger body. It’s about creating a healthier, more meaningful life with the people who matter most.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is unplug, get outside, and enjoy the company of the person beside you.

Apparently, in some people’s minds, the fit officer neglected his family, while the overweight officer was the devoted family man.

Working out isn’t neglecting your family.

Neglect is ignoring your health until preventable diseases, injuries, and limitations rob you of years with the people you love.

Your family doesn’t need you on the couch.
They need you healthy enough to be there for the long haul.

The real retirement plan isn’t your pension. It’s your health.

Thirty years of neglect and thirty years of training both leave a mark.

One leads to limitations.
The other preserves capability.

And training is only part of the equation. The food choices you make every day matter too. You can’t out-train years of poor nutrition, but you can build a stronger future one workout and one meal at a time.

The job takes enough from you already. Don’t give away your health too.

Start training—and fueling—for the officer and person you want to be at 65.
