The Hallsville School District is a four-day school district located just 10 miles north of Columbia. We offer a small school district and community feel, while at the same time having the conveniences the city of Columbia has to offer. Primary School: PreK-2nd

Professional Development and Support
New staff members are assigned a mentor and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including New Teacher Academy, New Teacher Cohort meetings, and Professional Learning Communities throughout the school year. The district is also focused on providing teachers the opportunity to attend professional development conferences. The Hallsville School District offers 100% paid health insurance and opportunities for additional benefits such as 403B, life insurance, accident coverage, and short-term/long-term disability. The district provides a 14.5% retirement match for teachers through the PSRS pension system.

As the school year comes to a close and summer begins, the Hallsville Athletics & Activities page will be taking a brief offseason break. During the summer months, the page will remain inactive while student-athletes, coaches, sponsors, and activity groups prepare for another exciting year ahead.

Hallsville School District encourages families, students, and community members to continue following their favorite Hallsville sports and activity pages throughout the summer to stay updated on camps, schedules, announcements, team news, and offseason opportunities.

The Hallsville Indians will officially return to action in August as fall sports and activities gear up for another memorable season filled with competition, school spirit, and Tribe pride.

Registration is now open for Hallsville Youth Athletic Camps.

Available camps include:
• Youth Volleyball Camp (Boys & Girls 1st-8th Grade) - Due June 20
• Youth Boys Basketball Camp (K-8th Grade) - Due July 7
• Youth Girls Basketball Camp (K-8th Grade) - Due June 26
• Youth Boys & Girls Football Camp (K-8th Grade) - Due July 1

HALLSVILLE ATHLETICS NAMES NEW HEAD COACHES

We are excited to announce, pending Board approval, two new head coaches for the 2026-2027 school year. Nicholas Beaty will serve as the new Hallsville High School boys golf coach, and Matt Heet will serve as the new Hallsville High School baseball coach.

Beaty joined the Hallsville School District three years ago as a high school learning specialist and assistant varsity football coach.

Heet has worked for Hallsville Schools for more than twenty years and has served in multiple coaching roles over the years, including head boys and girls basketball coach, as well as assistant baseball, softball, and football coach.

We are excited for both coaches as they step into these new leadership roles and look forward to the positive impact they will continue to have on Hallsville student athletes and programs.

Hallsville High School proudly recognizes the newly selected 2026–2027 Hallsville FFA Officer Team, a group of student leaders prepared to guide the chapter into another year of excellence, service, leadership, and tradition.

DORMAN TAKES HIS TALENTS TO STATE FAIR

Hallsville senior Keilin Dorman is taking the next step in an outstanding basketball career, officially committing to continue his athletic and academic journey at State Fair Community College next season.

Dorman leaves a lasting legacy on the court for the Indians after an impressive senior campaign that earned him 1st Team All-Conference, All-District, and All-State honors. Known for his leadership, competitiveness, and ability to deliver in big moments, Keilin wrapped up his Hallsville career ranked #3 on the school’s all-time scoring list.

Throughout his time in a Hallsville uniform, Dorman helped set the standard for excellence while becoming one of the program’s most accomplished players. His dedication and work ethic have made a lasting impact on the Hallsville basketball program and the community that supported him every step of the way.

SMOKE, SKILL, AND STATEWIDE SUCCESS:
HALLSVILLE HEARTATTACKS BRING HOME TOP HONORS AT STATE BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP

The Hallsville Heartattacks turned up the heat at the National High School BBQ Association State BBQ Contest, earning an impressive 3rd Place Overall finish against some of the best student grilling teams in the state.

After months of preparation, dedication, and teamwork, students Rylie Lower, Addison Harlow, Abby Browning, Jaydin Cochran, and Kaelynn Samuels showcased their culinary talents across multiple competitive categories and delivered outstanding results on the big stage.

The team’s accomplishments included:
• 10th Place — Grilled Cheese
• 18th Place — Ribeye
• 4th Place — Chicken Lollipops
• 3rd Place — Dessert
• 3rd Place — Ribs
• 16th Place — Pulled Pork

Their strong performance highlighted not only exceptional cooking skills, but also the hard work, perseverance, and teamwork that define Hallsville students. From preparing recipes to perfecting presentation and flavor, the Heartattacks proved they can compete with the very best.

Hallsville School District extends its congratulations to these talented students and appreciation to the families, supporters, sponsors, and community members who encouraged the team throughout the season.

HHS MEAT MASTERS BARBECUE TEAM BRINGS HOME STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Hallsville High School is celebrating a championship victory after the Hallsville Meat Masters earned the State Championship in the Homemade BBQ Pit Contest.

The team designed and built the award-winning BBQ pit themselves, showcasing outstanding skill, creativity, and teamwork. Yesterday, the students were also recognized at the Missouri State Capitol for their accomplishment.

Congratulations to Wyatt Morris, Abe Rhodes, Tracy Melloway, Lawson Burks, and Carter Geisler for representing Hallsville with pride.

Hallsville is proud of these students and their incredible achievement!

FREE SPORTS PHYSICAL DAY IS JULY 22ND

Hallsville School District families are encouraged to take advantage of a free Sports Physical Day for middle and high school student-athletes.

DETAILS:
• Wednesday, July 22, 2026
• 5:30-8:30 p.m.
• Missouri Orthopaedic Institute
• 1100 Virginia Ave., Columbia, MO

Student-athletes will receive free sports physicals from sports medicine professionals, including doctors affiliated with Mizzou Athletics.

Registration is required, and spaces are limited to one appointment per student.

HALLSVILLE ATHLETES PUNCH THEIR TICKETS TO SECTIONALS AFTER STANDOUT DISTRICT PERFORMANCE

Hallsville High School track and field athletes turned in an impressive showing Saturday at the District Meet in Centralia, earning seven Sectional qualifications and continuing a season filled with momentum, determination, and record-breaking performances.

The Indians will send athletes to compete in seven events at the upcoming Sectional Meet this Saturday in Centralia after a strong day against top competition from across the area.

Qualifying for Sectionals are:

• Maleah Kilpack in the 100-Meter Hurdles and Pole Vault

• Sierra Briggs, Lila Gunter, Brooklyn Mathews, and Ella Pezley in the Girls 4x800-Meter Relay

• Gabe Jenkins in the 100-Meter Dash

• Jack Stockamp in the Long Jump

• Lawson Burks, Grayson Hane, Tracy Melloway, and Alonzo Wright in the Boys 4x200-Meter Relay

• Eli Douglas, Grayson Hane, Luke Pezley, and Kash Spry in the Boys 4x400-Meter Relay

Adding to the excitement of the day, Hallsville’s Boys 4x100-Meter Relay team continued its remarkable season by breaking its own school record for the second time with a blazing time of 44.45 seconds. The accomplishment means the relay squad has effectively rewritten the school record books three separate times this season.

Coach Williams praised the team’s effort and competitive spirit as Hallsville now turns its focus toward another big opportunity at Sectionals this weekend.
