i reply to a customer email as follows:

i know very little about mercedes, but i know people who know a lot about mercedes

i know nothing about BMW and know no one who knows anything about BMW

i owned an 87 325 cabrio about 10 years ago, maybe a little more. the owners manual said to use premium fuel, so i'd use 93. i kept getting told i was stupid and a dupe of the oil companies for using 93 and that 87 is fine. i tried 87 and it was fine, seemingly just as fine as 93. i drove around on 87 just fine

then i took it for an extended, hard run trip in the mountains, running it on 87. it wasn't ever fine after that.

so i guess i do know something about BMWs and that is to use premium and not regular if the company tells you so

seems rusty is now recommending people buy from me now. i am still getting calls every day from people who are still being scammed. the last guy who got cheated only a few days ago is 72 years old. luckily he only got taken for 30 something dollars. maybe have been taken for 4 figures. at least charles hart has finally gone quiet and stopped telling people to keep placing orders on what appears to be his website

a man just called me in very fractured english with a heavy accent. he was asking a question but i couldn't understand it. eventually i a made it out. he was asking me: "are you rusty now?"

the incredible betrayal and failure that was trent is now in the air. guys who have never posted to a forum or a list have already somehow caught on that i may be "rusty now"

really interesting for me how something like this works. you just presume nobody is paying attention but it might just be that the guys who are talking might not be paying attention but the silent guys always are
