The Virginia legislation proposed to slightly change the concealed carry permit training requirements is HB916. The bill HB916 has been introduced and is awaiting referral by the House Committee. No need to panic, the NRA Basic Concealed Carry class I have been teaching for several years in the Halifax, South Boston Virginia area meets all the requirements already. I have attached HB916 directly from the Virginia Legislative Information System so you can read it yourself.
If you are interested in applying for your permit and you haven't taken documented training to meet the requirements, contact me.

If you have been thinking about applying for a Virginia Concealed Carry Permit you may want to consider getting that done. Currently the process is simple and the cost for a five year permit is only $50, renewable for another 5 years for the same price by simply sending in the renewal form and payment. With the possibility of administrative changes in the future you may want to look into it. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I will be set up in front of the Halifax Farmers Market tomorrow Saturday August 2 from 8am until 1pm. I have Concealed Carry Class information, Sabre pepper gel and Firebird reactive targets to add some fun to your range time. Firebird targets come in 3 different strengths from quiet neighbor friendly bangs to really loud blasts. No mixing or preparing them at the range. Ready to use right out of the package. You can set them off with a handgun, rifle, shotgun, pellet gun and even a bow. stop by and take a look.

I also will have Sabre Pepper gel for those of you that have nothing for self protection or want to add another layer. It's legal in Virginia and very effective. Sabre is the number one brand for Law Enforcement, maximum strength and affordable at $11. Look for me outside in front of the market from 8am until 12:30pm.

I will be at the Halifax Farmers Market Strawberry and BBQ Festival tomorrow Saturday May 31st from 8am until 2pm. Stop by to see me and get some information on taking the NRA Basic Concealed Carry Class. I am also an authorized dealer for Firebird Reactive Targets and I will have the 50mm and 65mm targets and the Gender Reveal targets available. I am also an authorized dealer for Sabre Safety products and I will have their Pepper Gel dispensers in various colors available.
