With a roaring home crowd behind them, Half Moon Bay delivered a dominant performance in the CCS semi-finals, powering past Menlo School with an emphatic 83–59 victory. The Cougars set the tone early and never let up, playing with extraordinary effort from start to finish. Their unselfish style, chemistry, and trust built over many years of competing together were on full display as they controlled the pace and executed on both ends of the floor.
Senior Gio Garduno-Martin led the charge with an electrifying 30-point performance, stepping up in key moments and knocking down big shots when the Cougars needed them most. Senior Owen Perez was a force in the paint, demonstrating tremendous strength and presence inside as he poured in 26 points and grabbed an impressive 15 rebounds. His dominance on the boards provided critical second-chance opportunities and limited Menlo’s looks down the stretch.
Senior Daniel Moctezuma contributed 13 important points, while junior Levi Meighan added 10, helping balance the offensive attack. But beyond the stat sheet, the impact was clearly spread across the entire roster. From tough defense and hustle plays to smart passes and timely stops, it was a complete team effort that propelled the Cougars to victory.
With the win, Half Moon Bay advances to the CCS Championship, where they will face Sacred Heart Prep on Saturday (location and time TBD). The Cougars carry with them the grit, unity, and belief that have fueled their remarkable season as they prepare for the next challenge.
