February is National Heart Month. Many of you know I have heart issues and that Julia has had lifelong autoimmune issues. Over the past few years Juliaβs health conditions have become more serious and complex. While my heart doesnβt want to beat, hers races to 190 just standing up and then passes out.
We had a wonderful team of doctors that diagnosed her heart and rare joint disorder in Oregon. However, since we have moved she has developed seizures ending with her joints and body turning to stone and she can only move her eyes for a couple of hours while lying with multiple dislocated joints. Sheβs been hospitalized and now has 6 specialists here to monitor all of the side effects of these disorders.
At a time when Julia was just driving and looking forward to getting a job and her future life kept handing her setbacks. Part of her disorders affect her ability to retain electrolytes or even keep food down. We are all learning and itβs never fair children get sick. A couple of years ago she could barely walk, passed out multiple times a day, and life was on hold. Now, we are all learning to live with her symptoms and how to address new ones. Her road has not been easy for many yearsβ¦ emotionally or physically. But what I do know is that this child of mine has a heart of gold and is a fighter. She has dreams and no plans giving up on herself.
She is loyal, kind, stubborn, loving and deserving of all of her hopes and dreams. She is blessed with friends, family, and loved ones who have chose to support her and love her unconditionally. She is an avid book reader, creative, and amazing with children.
I purposely chose pictures that prove to not judge a book by a cover. My 5β8β beauty has an even more beautiful soul. To say I am proud of all she has overcome is an understatement. I love her like βpiβ with a cherry on topβ€οΈπ
