Charlottesville Junior Roller Derby was started January 2014 through Charlottesville Parks and Recreation in response to the growing demand from youth fans of Roller Derby. In 2015, CJRD was brought under the fold of the Charlottesville Derby Dames. Since then we have developed a program up to and through recreational competition against other local junior derby teams. We are still developing a co

mpetitive Junior Derby team for potential participation in the Junior Roller Derby Association competitive structure. We are welcoming of all juniors between the ages of 8-17 (18 year olds who are still in high school may participate or may join our adult roller derby league, the Charlottesville Derby Dames) regardless of previous skating or sport experience. Skates and safety equipment are available for rental.

We had a great time this past Sunday kicking off Fall Juniors with our first (land-derby) jam of the season! 🎉 Returning skaters demoed roles and gameplay for new recruits and parents following a brief explanation from Coach Stonewallup.
