It’s always a good time when your first guests of the summer are also great friends! Old Army friend, later co-worker, and also sailing buddy, LTC (R) Rick Howe and his wife, Kathy joined us for the weekend and the Webster County Community Fund fundraiser Murder Mystery Dinner! Some amazing meals like Mixed Grill of Venison, Elk (from Jackson Hole), Iberian Sausage and Shrimp! The range was opened and some antiques were fired… who shoots 7.63 Ma**er today?

Meanwhile, on the Watt Farm the transition from Greenhouse to the ground begins! Deer resistant boundary plants to supplement a hot wire. Sherry also got in four 25’ rows of corn before the rain. Weather dependent, potatoes tomorrow and Tomatoes on Friday!

From this to this! Sherry Riley Watt is the heart and soul of “the Hatch” and is making it happen! Power washed the deck, cleaned the stairs, put furniture together… hardest working woman I’ve ever known. The Hatch will be open for business soon. I’m reminded of the song “Waiting on a Woman” only we’re waiting on Jason Hyre!
