Thursday 6/18 update: the driving range is back open! We do have some minor cart restrictions to start today after just shy of an inch of rain yesterday. We will be using the 90-degree rule on most holes; cart paths only on 1, 5 and 16. As we dry out, restrictions may be lifted. For the latest ground conditions, or to make a tee time, please call the Pro Shop at 847-855-9031.

Thankfully this gray and soggy Wednesday 6/17 did not bring us severe weather! We did pick up enough rain that the driving range will be closed for the rest of today to dry out. Ground conditions on the course will be assessed early tomorrow morning to determine if any cart restrictions are necessary Thursday (hopefully not). Please call the Pro Shop at 847-855-9031 for the latest updates.

Sunny, low humidity and 80 degrees for tonight's Families on the Fairway event? Yes please!!! Come out to Bittersweet today (Friday 6/12) from 7-9 pm for this fun, FREE family event sponsored by the Gurnee Park District and Village of Gurnee.

This year's theme is "Music & Magic" and activities include a magician, DJ, balloon artists, Photo Booth, bounce houses and more! PLUS: try out your golf skills at the open driving range and putting greens. Bittersweet's instructors will be circulating to give tips and talk to youngsters interested in golf. Limited clubs will be available, so feel please bring your own.

Please note that after 7pm, use of the driving range and putting greens will be dedicated to Families on the Fairway attendees. We look forward to seeing a great turnout this evening.

Thursday 6/11 update: With heavy weather forecast for later this afternoon into this evening, Bittersweet will be closing up shop on the earlier side. Driving range lights will NOT come on tonight. The outside ball dispenser will be turned off no later than 5pm as we keep an eye on the movement of approaching storms. Everybody try to stay safe out there tonight!

Looking beyond a couple more rounds of storms, it appears that a perfect day and evening lie ahead for our FREE Families on the Fairway event, coming to Bittersweet from 7-9pm this Friday, June 12th. This year's theme is "Music & Magic" and will feature a magician, DJ, balloon artists, Photo Booth, bounce houses and more! Get your summer started with golf at Bittersweet this holiday weekend! The forecast is IDEAL for golf: dry with temperatures ranging from mid 60s to mid 70s each day. Choice tee times are available Friday through Monday; just call the Pro Shop at 847-855-9031 for a tee time or book online 24/7. Please note that the entire holiday weekend is a blackout period for promotional rounds such as Group Golfer, GolfVisions Player's Pass, Chicago Golf Show, etc.

Before or after your round, we invite you to stop by the Fireside Bar & Grill for a delicious smash burger or tasty hotdog dressed up with Chicago sauce and your favorite cold beverages. Beverage cart service will be available throughout the weekend as well.

The driving range will be open daily at 6am. Driving range lights are on until 9pm through Thursday 5/21, switching to 10pm starting Friday 5/22! Purchase your range balls outside at the ball dispenser machine or inside during Pro Shop hours; after hours, only outside sales will be available.

Last call for Spring Fling registrations! The forecast for Saturday 5/16 is 77 and sunny...perfect weather and course conditions are prime-time. Stop by or call the Pro Shop at 847-855-9031 to sign up. We can accommodate up to 10 more groups as of Monday 5/11. New food debuts this year -- an authentic "fiesta buffet" featuring an array of Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites. Also new: prizes for top 5 and random 5 groups. Buffet begins at 11:30am and shotgun start is 12:30pm.

ALL DAY LONG on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10th...mom plays 18 for $50, 9 for $28. Riding only until 3pm. Moms, grandmothers, godmothers, fun aunts, cat and dog moms are all invited to enjoy the promotional rate. Also, although we do not book 9-hole rounds before noon on weekends during our prime season, Mother's Day is an exception: play 9 anytime. The driving range will be open until lights off at 9pm. Sunday, May 3rd is looking delightful! The course and range will be open -- book online at bittersweetgolf.com or call the Pro Shop at 847-855-9031 from 8am-4pm on Saturday to make your tee time. Monday also looks lovely; keep in mind the range will be closed until 12pm Monday for weekly maintenance.
