Finally got to fish after working right through the holidays and having no free time for two months. Was super proud to kick off the new year in my gear and win the first tournament of the year at the on Klerkskraal
Was even more special to do it with one of the High School anglers who fished incredibly well and was a pleasure to have on the boat for the day. High School team of .ismail12 and fished so well and caught the fish to place 4th but lost 1kg to a dead fish penalty. Baits that did damage all day were dbomb and frog along with supporting roles from a Arashi glide and a 7 inch fluke style bait. Thank you to all the other anglers and the organizers .

Though day out on the water today, my big fish didn’t show up but so thankful I managed to get 5 because it was a lot harder than in practice. Tomorrow is going to be even more challenging as I have a short day so I will really need the fish to show up and bite good if I’m to get the 20lb bag I need to make a move. Thank you so much to everyone for all the support it means so much to me!

Tomorrow I go out to compete in the MLF Toyota Series against some of the best anglers in the USA and rest of the world. I am confident I can do well and will be fishing my heart out to represent my country, the people and organizations supporting me and my family. Whatever way it goes win or lose I learn more each trip, am proud to have come this far, so thankful for my blessed life and give God all the glory for all he has done for me!

Lord blessed me in 2018 with my first trip to the USA to compete at the FLW Costa Championship and the experiences since have been more than I can ever have dreamed for. Today I had the honor of picking up my jersey from non other than Lake Guntersville Classic Champ and meeting his son, up and coming pro angler who is going to be a force to be reckoned with this week on Guntersville in the championship. Will post some fishing updates soon and a video chatting to Randy. Been fishing in style off a beautiful Z19 and been putting some good fish in the boat so hopefully can do the same during the tournament 💪

Awesome day out at a dam I have never fished before .ismail12 and fished off one of the Crackleback 360s while and I fished off my 460. Ethan and I managed a very respectable 3 fish bag of 4.8kg and took home 2nd place as well as biggest fish prize. Thank you to for the great sponsorship towards the big fish prize it has been shared out among the Junior anglers. Most fish were caught on Frog Jr and D Bombs. Congratulations to the winners and all the other anglers and a big thank you to and for all you do for our sport. Also shoutout to for being so kind as to tow the 360 there and back so that we can get more youngsters out on the water.

It’s warming up nicely and while the w**ds have not yet topped out at Boskop dam I figured it would be nice to get one of the Jr anglers out for a frog and flipping lesson. Bigger fish were few and far between but we managed to execute on what we wanted to and were rewarded with a few good ones among a load of smaller fish. is still not quite ready to fire but you can have some fun with most plastics fished slowly around the w**d and if you have some patience you will be rewarded on frogs and flipping. Better fish were found on the lower end of the dam. Damage was done on hollow body, frogs and dbombs. Thanks .ismail12 for a good day on the water. Thanks for great facilities.

Took 3 days of commitment to a very specific and focused game plan to beat out some of South Africa’s top anglers and qualify for the MLF Toyota Series Championship 2022 💪 Going to feel lost this year without my champion boat partner but will hopefully go out there and do my best and maybe share the experience with fishings up and coming champs, watch this space!

So it’s been so so long since I posted, told you I struggle with this social media stuff especially with everything I’m always working on. Anyway got so much to be proud of from this past season. The SJF Juniors have gone from strength to strength with some amazing finishes. Super proud of .ismail12 and Dave and Luke qualifying for the TBC championship this year. Also awesome performances by Adam, Alessio and Max qualifying for Junior Nationals and Alessio and Max securing their SA colours 💪💪

I’m off to the States this week so I really need to post a few more pics from the last trip which I will try to do each day this week.

Will also announce a really cool subscriber prize to make up for not having one for so long 👍
