Is it time for a new lid?

According to the Bike Safety Institute, you should replace your bike helmet every 3 to 5 years, as foam degrades from sweat, UV light, and general wear, reducing its safety. Replace it immediately after any crash, significant drop, or impact, even if it looks fine. If the helmet has cracks, frayed straps, or is over 5 years old, it is time for a new one.
