Sean, Chris, Josh, and Kevin were truly a joy to have to have in base camp this year. They rode the roller coaster of emotions that accompanies over the counter elk hunting. After many of miles in brutal conditions with guides Rob and Luke, these guys were presented with a challenge on the last day of the hunt. With out hesitation they agreed to pursue a herd of elk above timberline in knee deep snow, that were located as far as you can get from camp with out staying overnight. They were able to locate the elk in the same spot they were seen earlier in the day, and these men were able to harvest a great bull from the herd. The adventure ended with a long pack out with the horses under the stars, and went rather quickly thanks to Luke’s singing. “Some bulls are given, most are earned, and these guys truly earned this bull.” -Luke Gerig
