Very cold, very windy and very rough this morning! But we made the last day of snapper season count and even stopped inshore on our way back and caught a couple solid redfish! Believe me when I say my crew earned every single one of those fish!!

An extremely challenging morning! Very windy and dirty water, but that didn’t stop the fish. Consistent bite all morning, redfish, puppy drum, speckled trout, white trout and flounder. I’ve never done an 8 hour inshore trip before, but these guys wanted to, so I accepted the challenge! It ended up being an awesome trip and I really enjoyed it because it gave me plenty of time to do what I need to do without being rushed! Had a catch and release trip today, and although it was too rough for plan A, plan B ended up working out! And while on the way to plan B, we came across a floating log that was absolutely LOADED with triple tail. Such a cool fish, and my favorite to sight fish. He said he was almost 50 years old and had never caught a redfish. His goal was to catch his first one day. Not only did we make that happen, we also put him on the best speckled trout bite he’d ever seen! It was a little rough and rainy, but we didn’t let that slow us down. I don’t snapper fish much, but that doesn’t mean I forgot how. Quick easy limit, conditions were less than favorable, but this crew stuck it out and put some nice fish in the box.
