🏆 Congratulations to team GS Anderson, state champions at this weekends tri-level state tournament!

They will advance on to sectionals in Rome GA next month to represent Alabama.

Despite a few weather delays, we had a great time as the host site for this fantastic tournament!

❗️𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘

The tennis courts at the George C. Meyer Tennis Center are unavailable for recreational play Friday, September 11, through Sunday, September 13, while hosting the USTA Tri-Level Alabama State Championships.

Spectators are welcome! Stop by and enjoy a weekend of great tennis!🎾

🇺🇸In honor of Labor Day, the following City of Gulf Shores Recreation & Cultural Affairs facilities will have closures or changes to their regular hours of operation:

• The Bodenhamer Recreation Center will remain open on Monday, September 7, 5:30AM - 8PM; however, no fitness classes will be held. Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
• The Cultural Center will be closed on Monday, September 7. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
• The George C. Meyer Tennis Center will be closed on Monday, September 7; however, the courts will remain open and available for public use. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
• The Thomas B. Norton Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 7. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
• The Gulf Shores Museum will be closed from Saturday, September 5, through Monday, September 7. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
• The Gulf Shores City Store will be closed on Monday, September 7. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.

The pickleball courts at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex will remain open and available for public use.

➡Skills covered in our 6-7 pm beginner clinic:
Follow the pathway of the ball, learn the strokes: forehand, backhand, and overhead, serve & return the ball, and engage in volleys.

➡Advanced Beginner/Strategies Pickleball Clinic 7-8pm
Advanced Beginner Pickleball is a follow-up to the Beginner Pickleball class. We will work on improving your ground strokes, overheads, volleys, and serve.

Skills Covered:
Add direction and control to forehand and backhand shots. Improve technique on serves, volleys, and drive shots; initiate a d**k rally.

Equipment will be provided; bring a water bottle and sweat towel. Wear flat-soled sneakers appropriate for court use.

🥒 Pickle at the Plex – Saturday, July 18 at 9 AM. Try pickleball for FREE at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex! Equipment is provided, and all ages are welcome.

🎾 Back-to-School Tennis Camp – Saturday, July 25 at 8:30 AM. Enjoy a morning of tennis, swimming, and pizza!
