Buddy said he had some visitors in town and needed someone to get them on a chew to catch a ton of fish and fill the cooler. Say less - we can do that for ya. Caught 150+ fish today including another UNREEL LIMIT of red snapper (including a 25 # stud), and also called a ton of other species including a Unicorn 🦄 Filefish. Sending these folks back north with a ton of meat 💯

🚨🚨🚨211 # YELLOWFIN TUNA ALERT 🚨🚨🚨

This story is unbelievable but I promise it’s true. Our great buddy Chase has been on a sword fishing kick and wanted to do this month long sword fishing tournament where you can only declare 3 fishing days. We are more than happy to learn this fishery with him and help where we can, so we said yes, paid the dues, and signed up.

We had to fish today in big seas because this weekend looks even worse, and slowly headed 70 miles offshore. Storms were on the horizon and we figured we’d run away from them when the time came, but we hooked into an absolute monster fish and 1.5 hours later it wasn’t in the boat yet. It was too late and the storm moved right on top of us with the wind blowing and the rain pouring, but we battled on for another hour and hit him with the harpoon and gaffes, and then he was finally in the boat.

I’m sure it has happened, but I’ve never heard of someone catching a YFT 1300’ down while swordfishing, especially with a tuna this size - I’m sure this is rare. We won’t win this tournament but we did catch two swordfish, a pomfret, and a whopper tuna - no complaints here.

A few years ago we had come across a guy named Chase on a local Facebook group looking to get serious about going offshore. We were even newer to the game but looking for the same. Made a plan to look for golden tilefish together and found them the first try, and it’s been a gravy train of a friendship ever since with some incredible catches I never thought possible. I have no idea why he trusts us and we’re his first call for a fishing trip but I’m appreciative of it 💯

Only been flounder gigging one time so going to be learning this on the fly, but the little KW 1520 has been rigged up with three sets of lights to stab some night time flounder and we’ll see how it goes. Most people seem to use a flat bottom tin boat but we got what we got here and going to give it a go

Pictured here is our buddy Chase with a Pomfret we caught while swordfishing on this great American holiday. Not the 300 # sword we were after but not something you see caught often at all. Put this on the list of stuff I never thought I’d be part of pulling over the rail on a boat ever.

Our buddy Chase wanted to do some sword fishing so MSF & friends answered the call, hopped on his boat, and had a nice trip. Did some night time swording first but it produced some jumbo blackfin tuna instead. Tried a bunch of off the beaten path swordfish spots and did go 2/2 on them, but they were both undersized and released. Learning a lot and learning it fast - great crew and a lot of fun the last 24 hours, fortunate to be a part of it.

Picked up a nice 41" mahi today on the troll. Felt good about the area, nice color and temp break but took 4.5 hours to finally find a taker. Kept at it for another couple hours hoping to find this girl's mate hanging around but couldn't find anything. Always thankful for any success on the troll as we continue to get better at this. Hoping this is a sign of things to come🤞🏼

Ditched the sea dek and switched to safe floor, and got the old girl a fresh detail. Look good, feel good, fish good. Got all the rods/reels and lures re-rigged - we're ready to rock and roll.
