For over half a century, Innerlight Surf Shop has been the go-to destination for surfers along the Gulf Coast. With three stores strategically located from Pensacola to Destin, FL, Innerlight provides unparalleled support to the Gulf Coast’s boarding and beach-going communities. Our journey began in 1969 when founder Yancy Spencer started the shop in a modest 400 sq ft cinder block building. By 19

72, the shop was renamed Innerlight, and it has continued to flourish ever since. Yancy co-owned Innerlight with his brother JB Schluter, creating a family legacy that remains strong to this day. Sadly, Yancy passed away in February 2011 after a day of surfing at one of his favorite point breaks in California. Despite this loss, his family has carried on his passion and dedication, ensuring that Innerlight continues to thrive and grow. Community involvement is at the heart of Innerlight. We proudly sponsor numerous events, schools, and teams, reinforcing their commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them over the years.
