Congratulations to Grace Storjohann for becoming the first Grundy Center girl wrestler to win a State Championship! Grace blew through the State Tournament at 125 # for APGC by pinning all four of her opponents , none of whom reached the 3rd period. There may be more Grundy Center girls who win State championships, but Grace will forever be....the FIRST!

What great thrills he gave us over the past couple of years....an amazing athlete and one that we will talk about in the same conversations of legendary Spartans like Bud Bergman, Bill Smith, Jim Bayse, Dave Ehrig, Jeff Dole, Joel Crisman, Brad Harms, Matt Bockes, and Bryce Flater to mention a few. Thanks for the memories!

A month has gone by since we inducted the Class of 2025 and we'd like to thank the Town & Country Golf Club, the golfers, sponsors, and contributors to our annual fund raiser on Friday, July 11th. Although we got rained out after 5 holes, we had a great lunch and social time as usual. Thanks again to all who help make this Hall of Fame a success. We hope everyone will continue to support the event in the years ahead.

The 1970 2 Mile Relay team provided a unique induction.

First, they are as of 2025 the ONLY Spartan relay team to win a State Championship in Boys Track in the history of the school...a mere 55 years ago.

Second, their time still remains a school record...a mere 55 year old record.

And third, they were presented their HOF awards by Terri Whitney Jackson who, as a young girl from Milford, Iowa that hosted the Class B State Track Meet, presented this team their medals...a mere 55 years ago.

Congratulations to this state championship team of Lee Luhrs (the senior member of the team who ran anchor), Tim Williamson (a junior who is already a HOF member himself and ran 3rd), Mark Carter (another junior who is a member of the HOF 1971 Boys Basketball team and ran 2nd), and Brian Borchardt (a sophomore who was the lead runner and handed off the baton with a sizable lead). Long may your record stand!
