It was a different view yesterday not seeing any of the Cookson-Russo Racing team out there but it was great to see the racing families again doing what they all love. Congrats to all our winners yesterday! Let's hope weather decides to be nicer for the rest of the season!

Well not as good an ending to our season that we were hoping for. Mackenna had issues with her car starting for race time. With the help of some race family, (Alex Theroux for the booster pack, Matt Carbone and Nate Glover for helping try to determine what the problem was, and Eric Charbonneau for the battery charger and Ty Haywood for the use of their generator) we got her battery charged enough to be able to get her out to at least be with her class for their meet and greet and out of car introductions then parked her for the night. Zachary had some problems with the car sticking to the track in first practice so crew chief made some adjustments and sent him out for second practice. Car handled better but not what we hoped for. He made it thru his heat and waited for everyone elses class to make it thru the night. Time ticked away but due to adult responsibilities (working Sunday morning) Zac chose to not participate in his feature and went home early. We are pretty sure that the cars will now be parked for the season, as again, responsibilities need to over ride the hobbies, but we would like to thank all of our sponsors, all who helped get these kids to the track every week and to all of those who have given them lots of advice along the way.

Here are the results of last nights racing. Had a few weeks of stuff going on and schedule conflicts so we finally made it back to the track this week. Mackenna started the night off with her daredevil class heat then finished with a very large daredevil class feature in last place as the patch on her radiator didnt hold and she started leaking and had to go to the pits. Zachary finished 3rd in his heat but was given second after another racer was DQ. He came out for his feature and ended up mixed up in the shuffle but finished 8th after battling some car issues. Thank you to everyone who helps in supporting what these kids love to do. Thank you to Hodgdon Racing for helping get Mackennas car to the track this week. As always.. we will see you at the races.

Definitely not the week had hoped for, as many of our fellow racers have posted, but another one in the books to say the least. Kenna is still riding along with the daredevil class and is still learning the ropes. She got sideways a little bit and scared herself so came back in. Zach started P2 in the heat and finished P2. He came out for the feature starting P2 and ended up getting spun out around lap 3 and went to the rear and finished 11th. Only to then get spun out again after the checkered flag in turn 1/2 and then rear ended to finish off the night. Some more cosmetic damage to fix again. Thanks to all who have helped this week. Eric, Charbonneau Family Racing, thanks for the help with tires this week and thanks to our uncle for helping pull car number 2 to the track.

Well we battled the rain to get racing in this week. Zac was our only car scheduled to race for this week. Track officials allowed everyone to get a little practice time in while we dodged the rain drops. They decided to NOT run Heats and go straight to features. We were posted to start P2 but due to weather and car concerns we opted to start in the rear. We determined our car and drivers safety was more valuable so we chose to ride it out. Zac had a good car but had an issue with a tire during practice so we had to make some changes. He still managed to battle through and finished overall 8th. Proud of our drivers and what they battle ever week to keep going and thankful for our crew chief for trying everything to keep them out there. Until Friday night this week.. have fun, be safe and see you at the races!

It was definitely a long day and a rough night for many racers. Both kids had good practices and came out for their heats in good cars. Zac got taken out in his heat and they cut his tire in the process and managed to scrape up his new paint job and brand new vinyl that was just applied hours before, so he had to come in. Car was still good so we changed tire and waited it out for the feature. Kenna rode around and managed to stay out of trouble this week in the dare devil class. Both kids made it to their features and avoided all the wrecks and disasters everywhere. Very proud of what these kids have accomplished. Sending our thoughts to Matt Carbone after his scary ride/roll over in his late model last night! Glad you are ok! Again thanks to everyone who helps the kids every week! Thanks to Pete Gilcris and Larissa Avery for their help with vinyl and thanks to Chad Hurley for painting Zacs car this week.
