🎉💪 Once again, one of our Fitness Center members is up to BIG things!

🏆 VIC SHAFFER SET ANOTHER WORLD RECORD!!!
(And then he broke his own world record with a new world record on his next attempt!)

On 8/22/2026, Vic Shaffer competed in the 100% Raw Shenandoah Open Powerlifting Meet in Woodstock, VA. The Strict Curl World Record for the 148-pound weight class and 75–79 age group was 92.5 lbs. Vic broke the world record on his third attempt with a lift of 93.7 lbs! Then, he broke the world record AGAIN on his fourth attempt with a lift of 97 lbs!

🎉 Congratulations, Vic! Keep up the hard work—we are so proud of you!

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE TOMORROW – PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! 🚨
The Ice cream race will be taking place tomorrow evening, and the road leading to Wise Strength & Fitness Center will be closed beginning around 6:30 PM.
🏃‍♀️ Fitness Center staff will be leaving at 6:00 PM.
⚠️ If you are at the Fitness Center when the road closes, you will NOT be able to enter or exit the parking lot until approximately 8:00 PM.

The AC unit in the fitness center is being replaced today!
Thank you to all of our members for your patience while the fitness center has been warmer than usual. We truly appreciate your understanding.
It may still feel warm for the rest of today and maybe tomorrow as the new unit currently being installed and will need time to cool the building back down.
Our goal is to keep the fitness center at 68°F. While we know that may feel chilly to some, we believe it's the safest and most comfortable temperature for exercising, helping reduce the risk of overheating during workouts.
Thank you again for your patience—we're excited to have the new system up and running!
