The 2025-2026 Flynn Mackrell Memorial Scholarship recipients are Ben Showalter and Mischa Eng. Both of these amazing young adults are recognized and rewarded as 4-year Varsity Athletes, having demonstrated exceptional teamwork, leadership, and camaraderie both in and out of the pool. All attributes that epitomized Flynn.

We continue to try to honor Flynn’s legacy in a meaningful way through the awarding of a laptop to each recipient to take on their next adventure after Grosse Pointe South.

The 2025-26 Detroit High School Sports Awards fall nominees have been announced. The Detroit High School Sports Awards is an athletic recognition program honoring the Detroit area’s top-performing athletes, coaches, and teams. The nine-month program, selecting and announcing nominees each season, culminates in an in-person awards show where winners are announced, and special awards are given.

Grosse Pointe South Athletics has an impressive SIX swimmers from our girls team to be named for the 25-26 season.
