What an awesome weekend out of Saugatuck MI fishing with my friends on Team KICK'R!!!

We fought our way though a challenging Friday preliminary tournament!!

I always approach pre-fishing from the stand point of learning what to do and sometimes more importantly what not to do!! Friday was definitely a what not to do kind of day!!

So what do you do when this happens……..we all rallied going into the main event focussing on corrective measures and it definitely paid off!!

After 2 days of fishing and weighing 12 solid fish both days we ended up taking 3rd place in the Pro Division and 4th place overall in the 333 tournament to put a nice Founders Cup score on the board for the Tournament Trail for Team KICK’Rs last event this season.

As it always is with this group it was a fun and amazing 3 days of fishing while having a great time with a ton of laughs with great friends!!!!

The Perfect Storm will be back at it next weekend fishing the Kids Tournament on Friday and the weekend event in Manistee!!!

5th place finish in the youth tournament today at the Ludington Offshore Classic.

These (3) 11 year old young men weighed In A 5 fish box weighing 73.95 pounds!!

The shakedown trip went well!!! The new Garmin autopilot worked as it should and made fishing extremely enjoyable especially being the only guy on the back deck with (2) 11 year old first mates. (Aydin and Tanner …..tournament hands in training)

Fished north of Ludington in 50’ to 70’ of water running spoons on 3 color, 4 color, 6 color and 7 color lead cores along with a 175 copper and a 200 copper all of which took fish. A down and out rigger took a nice king on a Magnum Storm Chaser spoon by Kustom Kreations Lures LLC down 29’, the high diver went off with a Team Dreamweaver Fat Nancy Spin Doctor and Pickled Sunshine Fly back 95’ . Cop Car by Kustom Kreations Lures was working on the 4 color taking 2 nice kings!

Speed was locked in at 2.6mph SOG and the Dreamweaver Ninja boards worked flawlessly!!

Fishing is red hot right now from Muskegon to Manistee get out and have a blast the spring kings are chomping!! I’m sure our friends from Team KICK'R are tearing into them in Grand Haven as well!!

We start our tournament trail season out of Manistee in June. More reports to come!!!
