Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate so we ended up getting our halter classes in & having to cancel the rest of our show today. Hope to see everyone next year!

The show is on for tomorrow, 8/29! All we can determine is we might get a quick shower & we might not 🤷🏻‍♀️ If Mother Nature decides to help us water our arena a little tomorrow, we will take a little break & we won’t complain. Don’t forget to pre-enter by 10:30pm tonight to avoid having to fill out all the paperwork in the morning! Hope to see you there!

We share with incredible sadness the passing of one of Grinnell Saddle Club’s favorite members.

Rita Robison passed away unexpectedly this past Friday. GSC and its members were so incredibly fortunate to have Rita be an active member and support our little club for so many years. She always greeted everyone with a smile and was a great encourager of our patrons. She was a talented seamstress creating beautiful show clothing for people from 4H to World Show levels of competition. If you had a dream of how you wanted to look in the show pen Rita could bring it to life.

Our hearts are heavy as we lift up Rita’s daughter, Shannon, and her sister, Linda, as well as their families as they navigate through this tragic loss. We love this family so much.

We’d like to honor Rita in our own special way. Please feel free to add photos of the beautiful show clothing she’s created for you over the years. This incredible lady will be deeply missed but will not be forgotten.

Looks like we will have great weather for a horse show this weekend! Please save both you & us time at the show office & utilize the online entry link. This allows us to have your entries in prior to the show & helps us be able to get the show started on time. You can add or scratch from those pre-entries as you want, no problem. Can’t wait to see another great show in Grinnell! Your support for these shows makes it worth all the MANY volunteer hours we put in behind the scenes, thank you!

Please utilize the online entry form on Sunday so we can have your entries ready for you tomorrow morning! Just check in at the office when you get there & leave a form of payment, easy peezy! The first of our 3 shows being held at the Poweshiek County Fairgrounds will be held on Memorial Day (Monday), come join us! Keep posted to our page with any weather announcements, so far it’s looking great!
