New pet peeve = unlocked

Seriously, I can’t believe how many of these videos I’m seeing - sometimes even from pelvic floor physios!

To me that shows the draw and toxicity of this platform, honestly…even people who (should) know better will bend their ethics in order to get views.

I know it’s not what you want to hear, but I also don’t want you to waste your time on something like this instead of actually getting the support you need to love and move better!

You deserve better. Don fall for the gimmicks, people!

What actually helps your pelvic floor issues:
1. Building awareness and understanding of what you feel in your body
2. Taking a whole body approach to make lasting change rather than chasing symptoms
3. Being patient and persistent

If the person you’re following is advocating for this and providing support in building those skills, they’re probably one of the good guys.

If they’re full of quick fixes, random pelvic floor exercises with no context, and an immediate “solution” that they are so excited to sell you…kick them off your feed, friend.

Do you have questions about building pelvic floor awareness, or understanding what your body is trying to tell you? Comment below or shoot me a message and let’s explore it together.

Back pain while babywearing is common…but it’s not something you’re just supposed to push through.

And it’s usually not random.

It’s often one of three things:
→ your carrier fit
→ how your body is handling the load
→ or a mix of both

I see this all the time: parents giving up on wearing altogether…when really, a few small shifts can make a huge difference.

I wrote a blog breaking it all down (and what you can actually do about it).

Comment BACK and I’ll send it your way!

Hey everyone,

It's almost time...this week I will be relocating from Columbus, MS to Grinnell, IA!

I will still be sharing helpful content here and on my blog and Instagram, and some of my services will still be available virtually - and I also happen to know that there is an amazing person training to take over as a babywearing consultant here in Columbus when I leave, so stay tuned for more info on her!

In the meantime, if you've found any of my events, classes, services, or content helpful on your birth, parenting, or fitness journey, please consider leaving a few kind words in a Google review. This helps other people just like you in my new community find the support they need!

“What do you mean that’s against hospital policy? Where is Doctor [redacted], I want to talk to her.”
“She’s doing her rounds right now, and I can call her over to talk to you, but she’s going to tell you the same thing.”

I overheard this conversation in the hallways of the L&D ward of a hospital in Mississippi, and it’s stuck with me ever since. I don’t know what this mom wanted or whether her doctor ended up being able to save the day...but what I do know is that no one should ever have to feel that kind of uncertainty in labor. She was crying, she was desperate, she was thiiiiiiis close to completely panicking...probably not what she wanted for herself during the birth of her baby.

So many moms work HARD on their birth plans - they do the research, they carefully choose a template and make it easy to read, they print out multiple copies for all the nurses...but they forget one hugely important step...

They don’t talk over it with their doctor.

Swipe through 👉 for 10 questions every parent should ask before giving birth—so you’re not caught off guard later.

The best time to start these conversations is in the second trimester—not when you’re knee deep in contractions.

Early questions = more time to make decisions that actually feel good to you.
And if it turns out your provider’s approach doesn’t align with what you want for your birth? Better to know now than at 39 weeks.

From birth plans to hospital policies to how your doc handles “big babies” or due dates, my latest blog post breaks it all down.

As your doula, I’m here to offer steady, personalized support through pregnancy and birth—so you never have to wonder if you’re doing it “right” or feel like you’re going through it alone.

I bring years of training in birth support, perinatal fitness, pelvic floor health, and childbirth education - but what matters most is how I show up for you. I’ll help you feel informed about your options, grounded in your choices, and supported through whatever your birth brings.

Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, your birth matters. And so do you.

Babies are born expecting to be carried.

Not just when it’s convenient. Not just during errands or fussy times.
But as a biological need—for regulation, safety, connection, and development.

In our culture, it’s easy to think of carrying as something extra. Something nice, but optional. In reality, it’s foundational.

When we carry our babies—whether in arms or in a carrier—we’re supporting their nervous system, digestion, emotional resilience, and even brain development.
We’re giving them what they were designed to expect.

In my latest blog post, I’m busting the myth that we shouldn't carry out babies for fear of "spoiling" and sharing what carrying really does for babies—and how we can meet this need without sacrificing ourselves in the process.

Whether you’re a parent or a professional who supports them, this is a conversation we all need to be having.

📖 Read the blog here: https://www.elisehalldoula.com/blog/why-carrying-matters

Let’s normalize carrying as essential—not optional.

So many parents tell me they only reach for the carrier when leaving the house. And I get it—it’s marketed that way. But truthfully, the most powerful benefits of babywearing happen in your everyday rhythm:

This isn’t something most of us want to think about—
Let alone talk about or plan for.

But the truth is: pregnancy and infant loss are far more common than we realize.
And when families find themselves navigating the unimaginable, they deserve more than silence and averted gazes. They deserve support, compassion, and choice.

💔

I’m honored to share that I’ve recently completed training as a Bereavement Doula, equipping me to support families through pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and pregnancy after loss. I'm prepared to offer trauma-informed care, emotional grounding, and practical advocacy for all those decisions no one prepares for (because we hope we never have to).

This work is incredibly personal to me.
I’ve experienced recurrent pregnancy loss—and I know how isolating, confusing, and dehumanizing it can feel.
No one should have to navigate that kind of heartbreak alone.

Whether you’re:
🕯️ Processing a recent loss
🌱 Pregnant again after loss and feeling anxious or unsure
❤️‍🩹 In need of immediate, unexpected support in the hospital
🤍 Or supporting a loved one going through it

Please know: you are not alone.
I’m here to hold space for you with tenderness, dignity, and zero judgment.

If you or someone you love is in need of support, I’m here.
And if this post resonates, I’d be grateful if you shared it—because too often, families going through loss don’t even know this kind of care exists.

Motherhood can be so loud—and still feel incredibly lonely.

You’re never really alone…
But the constant noise of little voices, the questions, the crying, the snacks, the mess—it’s not the same as connection.

You might be doing everything "right" and still feel like something's missing.
Because what you're craving isn't just interaction.
It's real, adult, non-judgmental connection.

When I found that in a group of local moms, it changed everything for me.

That’s why I started offering Kangatraining - so that other local moms could find the same validation and friendship I did...without having to awkwardly stalk each other around the playground.

We move our bodies.
Babies and toddlers come too—on scooters, in strollers, or snug in a carrier.
But the real reason it feels so good is the other moms.
The conversations that make you feel seen.
The laughs over shared chaos.
The reminder that you’re not the only one just trying to make it through the morning.

🌿 The next outdoor Kangatraining series starts Thursday, May 29 @ 9am!
👶 Babywearing and stroller/scooter friendly
💬 Come for the movement, stay for the mom chats
💸 $65 for the 5-week series
⚠️ Only a few spots left!

If you’ve been feeling touched out, burnt out, or just a little disconnected—you are so welcome here.
