I know it's Christmas time, and alot of folks are spent out. Look at the smile on this boy's face! That says it all! We recently helped outfit young Braxton "Fish" Sparrow with a Mossberg Patriot Super Bantam Youth rifle in 243 Wi******er. We topped it off with a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40mm scope, and set it in a medium height DNZ Game Reaper scope mount. Braxton and his dad Eric Sparrow sighted his new rifle in last week and Braxton was able to harvest his first deer on his first deer hunt ever the very next day! Man it don't get no better than that! Thanks for the business Braxton, and the advertisement(see his hat). Congratulations!

Here's a unicorn that you dont see alot of. I found this Browning BAR MKII Lightweight 30-06 for one of my customers. It appears unfired and was in the original box. Not a scratch on it. I have the same rifle chambered in 243 Win. These rifles are rare and usually hard to find, especially in this condition(NIB). They have an alloy receiver and 20" barrel. The regular BAR MKII Safari has a steel receiver and 22" barrel except the magnum calibers and 25-06. These rifles can be distinquished from a Safari by the smooth sided receiver with no engraving, and of course their light weight and shorter barrels. This rifle is light, and feels good when shouldered. We have removed the factory sights from it, filled the screw holes, and prepped it to mount a scope once the owner comes to pick it up. I believe the customer will be happy with it. Give us a shout if we can help you find a rifle, need repairs, scopes mounted, or a deep cleaning.

Another special ordered Browning BAR MK3 Carbine with 18" Fluted barrel, burnt bronze Cerakoting, and Ovix camo stocks in the shop for a DNZ Game Reaper scope mount install topped off with a Leupold Freedom Series 3-9x50mm scope. Customer brought in this Savage 320 12 gauge pump shotgun, and stated that the vent rib fell off after a few shots. We contacted Savage Arms, who had us send them the gun back to them. It left our shop on September 20th and we had it back September 29th with a brand new barrel. Savage replaced the barrel under warranty, cleaned the shotgun, and checked all specs. Quick turnaround, and great customer service.

Wanted to share some work we've been doing lately in the shop since we haven't posted in a while. We have been wide open.
Rifle #1 is a custom ordered Browning BAR MK3 30-06 Carbine 18" barrel. This rifle was special ordered by LL Cote in New Hampshire and originally came with wood stocks and no sights. The customer purchased, and had it shipped to us for his FFL transfer. Being a bear hunter, he wanted sights on it. MK3s do not come with sights, so we used a set of take offs from an older BAR , and drilled and tapped the barrel for sights. This was possible because the barrel was round and not fluted. Next, the customer wanted the factory wood stocks swapped out for synthetic stocks. We ordered those from Browning and installed them for him. The finished product is the only, known to us, Browning BAR MK3 30-06 carbine with open sights and black synthetic Stalker stocks.
Rifle #2 is a custom ordered Browning BAR MK3 308 Carbine 18" barrel with a fluted barrel and Burnt Bronze cerakoting. These rifles are built to a custom spec for Performance Shooting in New York. The customer purchased from us recently and brought back to us to install scope mounts, scope, and boresight it. Being a small framed gentleman, the customer inquired about shortening the stock for him. After installing the thinnest spacer available, the stock was still about 1/2" too long. I showed the customer that the wood stocks were about 1/2" shorter than the synthetic stock. After swapping them out so he could see the results, the customer decided he wanted the wood stock set on his rifle. We swapped the stock and forearm out for him and gave him his synthetic stock set back in case he wanted to change them in the future.
Both rifles turned out great in our opinion, and the customers are satisfied, which is the most important thing. Let us know what you think, and contact us if we can help you.
