Griffith MS (7th & 8th Grade) Basketball Information.
This past Tuesday we had a callout for the upcoming season. Please read this entire post as it will answer a lot of the same questions we have been getting.
Athletes will have to have a physical turned in(if a physical has already been turned in since April 1st, they are good to go) and an emergency contact release form printed and filled out before they can start workouts. Here are the links for both of those forms:

Physicals are being offered at Midwest Express Clinics, on US41 by Ciao Bella, for $25. They are open from 9a - 9p. Walk in and tell them you need a physical for Griffith HS Athletics. I believe they have the forms on site.
***State Physical Form Notes***
On page 2 of this document, HISTORY, at the bottom it has gray boxes for parent and student signature. Those both must be signed before turning it in.
On page 3, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, the physician must sign the bottom of the document and check one of the boxes stating whether or not the athlete has any restrictions.
On page 5, CONSENT & RELEASE, again gray boxes that must have signatures in them before this document is turned in. If any of this is not complete or signed, the athlete cannot participate until it is corrected.
Workouts will be Monday through Friday, right after school, in the field house starting on Sept. 30th. They must have proper workout attire...shorts, t-shirt and gym shoes. We are going to try to have these young men out of the school by 5:00 at the latest. We will let you know if there are any time/date changes.
If you have an athlete participating in a fall sport, they cannot quit or miss practices for their existing sport to come to basketball workouts. They will complete their commitment to their current team and then be allowed to try out for their MS basketball team.
We discussed with these young men the importance of behavior and respect in the hallways, cafeteria and class rooms. We discussed the importance of grades since they are STUDENT athletes and the student part comes first.
We will update as we have more information.
