Attention all ATHLETES, high school and middle school! No excuses, Sports Physical Day, is this Wednesday, May 20th from 3 to 4:30pm in the fieldhouse. Stop by the Athletic Office and pick up a new form. Physicals are $25 each, make sure your parent/guardian fill it all out and sign it and get it done. These physicals are for next school year 26/27. So if you know you are trying out or playing any sports, this physical is required!! Help spread the word!

Seriously, it’s only 2000 yds…barely more than the warmup. It’ll be fun!

Great message for the upcoming summer. Phones down, eyes up! Be safe!

Checking your phone may seem like a quick task, but it can quickly become a distraction—and distractions around the water can have major consequences. That’s why families should always assign a Water Watcher—an adult who maintains visual contact with all children playing in or near the water. Visit PhonesDownEyesUp.org to learn more about the layers of protection you can put in place to help keep kids safe around water, this summer, and all year long.

Stay tuned all month long for essential water safety tips! 🌊🌞

3/25/26 Griffith vs Merrillville

Absolutely great job by all of our Panthers as we swam with the Pirates at Merrillville. For the past several weeks, they’ve been working on many details to help them gain confidence in the water. Those details really showed up today in the pool! The Panthers show great effort in the water and great sportsmanship on the deck. We can’t wait to see them progress and middle school and in high school! I will post the paper results, once I receive them.

Great job, everyone! These Panthers are going to explode in their new Griffith pool next year!

Day 2 Boys Swimming Sectionals went absolutely great for our Panthers today! Everyone swam their fastest personal best times in their events! This was an awesome way to complete the season and the coaches are very proud of your swimmers!

The 200 Freestyle Relay of Kevin Fisher, Jimmy Tirpak, Mason Taylor, and Aidan Kovera finished with the fastest time of the year, with each of them getting their best split times.

Aidan Kovera finished 13th overall in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle events with his personal best times.

Kevin Fisher finished 16th with his best time in the 100 Backstroke.

Jimmy Tirpak took 13th in the 500 Freestyle with a drop of almost 30 seconds for his personal best time.

A huge thank you to our friends and swim family at Calumet! The Warriors have given us a second home to train and the support of true sportsmanship. Swim Family is the only way to describe the Panthers and Warriors, and we will work to repay their generosity as we move into the next chapter of our Griffith Swim Program.

Great job and Let’s Go Panthers!!

The Lady Panthers Swim Team had a great night at the 2026 Munster Girls Sectionals. Each of the girls achieved their best times of the season. Caty Tirpak, in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Lina Hanke, in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. and Jenna DeLeon, in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. It was a great finish to a great season for the girls and the coaches are very proud of their hard work and success. The team would also like to thank Principal John Chance and Athletic Director Olimpia Tienstra for joining the girls and cheering them on at Munster. Great job, Panthers!
