20 Years ago we stood together as a country; Black, White, Hispanic, Gay, Straight, and everything in between, horrified at images just like these saying we would never forget the hatred and vileness of the attackers, the horror that unfolded on this fateful day, and the heroes that lost their lives, and the ones who will always live with the mental and physical scars they received.

20 years later, here we are hating and dividing amongst our fellow countrymen and women sometimes with the same vileness that we witnessed then, killing and hating for no reason other than we disagree or don’t like the other person or their beliefs.

There are many of us who have not forgotten the 2,996 Americans that died that day and what that attack meant, but so many more have just let time separate them from the underlying consequences and ramifications of this event.

God bless the families of the ones we lost and the survivors who will never be able to forget the tragedy this country endured; and prayers for our country who needs our unity now more than ever.
