The program had a great opening week! It was great to see so many of our returning wrestlers back on the mat while also welcoming some new faces to the program. If you’ve been thinking about joining, don’t be shy; come by and give us a chance! We practice Mondays & Wednesdays from 6–8 PM and Saturdays from 9–11 AM at 501 Lafayette Street, Gretna, LA 70053. We capped off our summer traveling to Alabama to compete in the Deep South National Duals. This tournament challenged us in many ways and taught us a lot about ourselves. It exposed areas where we need to grow, but more importantly, it highlighted the strength of our community and the commitment we have to one another. Now, we’re excited to officially begin the next chapter! Our first practice as West Bank Wrestling Academy will be Monday, August 17th, from 6–8 PM at 501 Lafayette Street, Gretna, 70053. If you or your child have ever been interested in wrestling, this is the perfect opportunity to come out, learn the sport, and see what West Bank Wrestling Academy is all about. The first week is free, and no experience is necessary; just come ready to learn, work, and have fun! Practice times and additional information can be found through the website link below. Wow, what a time! Saturday, all of the wrestlers hard work, dedication, and sacrifice paid off as we brought home 14 state champions. Words truly cannot express how proud we are of our kids, not just for their success on the mat but also for the way they continue to stand strong together as a family. Championships are earned through talent and hard work, but lasting success comes from unity, support, and love for one another. Watching these kids lift each other up through every victory and challenge has been one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable. We also want to sincerely thank every parent who trusted us with the opportunity to help lead and mentor their child. Your support, belief, and commitment throughout this journey have meant everything to us. Unfortunately, Saturday marked the end of our final season as Eagle Wrestling Academy, as Archbishop Shaw High School has made the decision to discontinue the club. While it’s heartbreaking to see this chapter come to an end and to have to find a new home, the beautiful part is that family doesn’t disappear; it simply moves together. We firmly believe everything happens for a reason, and we are incredibly excited and blessed to announce that we will be merging with Delta Wrestling Club. This is not the end of our story; it is the beginning of a new chapter, and we cannot wait to continue building something special together. As we reflect on the amazing memories and accomplishments of Eagle Wrestling Academy, we want to take a moment to share some photos from throughout our club’s history. It has truly been an unforgettable journey, and we look forward to creating many more memories with Delta. Remember it’s never too late to join the family. With freestyle state being this Saturday, it’s only right we look back at the results from previous freestyle tournaments from this season. Throughout the season the kids have made tremendous strides, but to see them come back and want to better their abilities is inspirational. Love seeing the kids grow together, keep up the good work!
