After an incredible journey building and growing GPC, I’ve made the decision to step away from the gym and pass the torch to new ownership - the gym is in the very capable hands of Jon Erickson, who has taken over as owner and coach.
This community has meant everything to me, and I am incredibly grateful for the trust, energy, and support you all have shown over the years. Watching so many of you work hard, grow stronger, and build connections here has been an absolute privilege. Whether you were/are a member, took/take softball lessons, soccer training, a trainer, a volunteer or anything inside the walls of GPC - Thank You for Everything.
Jon grew up in Nebraska and was a three-sport athlete in high school. He went on to play 2 years of football and run track in college before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 2009. During his time in the Marines, he served on both humanitarian and combat deployments and was part of the commissioning ceremony for the U.S.S. Anchorage.
Jon returned to school in 2015 and earned degrees in Parks & Recreation Management and Wildland Fire Management. In 2017, he moved to Arizona to work as a wildland firefighter before heading back to school at Arizona State to pursue Strength and Conditioning. He coached at and managed a gym in Phoenix, AZ, for three years before moving back to Omaha.
In 2022, Jon launched his own fitness business, Stone and Steel, where he’s been training clients 1-on-1 in Omaha. He also coaches football and track at Yutan High School. Jon and his wife, Amanda, are parents to a 4-year-old son, Lincoln, and 2-year-old twins, Tate and Vivi.
He brings a ton of experience, passion, and heart to this work, and I’m confident you’re going to love having him at the helm. Jon is committed to continuing the sense of community and hard work that defines Gretna Performance Center, while also bringing his own strengths and ideas to help you grow.
Give Jon and the new Gretna Performance Center social media a follow to stay up on what’s to come!
