Took the newly acquired BRN 180-S upper from Brownells out today. It is a piston driven system based on the AR-18 platform. Like the AK rifle, it doesn’t need the buffer tube and spring to operate. It shoots so much smoother and cleaner than a standard DI AR. It also has an adjustment to shoot suppressed or unsuppressed. Very impressed.

I used 147gr ammo which was a little louder than thr 150gr. Still no hearing protection needed. I highly recommend the Mod 9 for pistol and PCC use. Order one today!
