Upstate Local Tennis League! UPTA is in Upstate S.C. and runs USTA League Tennis.

USTA League Tennis is the world's largest recreational tennis league providing organized, structured team matches for all ability levels. The program is open to women and men 18 years of age and older and features a local, state and sectional championship and culminates in a national championship in each skill level (NTRP levels 2.5 - 5.0).

Congratulations to our 2026 UPTA Mixed Champions and Finalists. Thank you to the facilities, USTA South Carolina and to all of the volunteers for making this weekend possible. Congratulations to all of our teams for winning your divisions and representing UPTA at State. 💪🏼🎾

We’ve been UPTA Something Good! Our CTA recently supported the GE Verona annual tennis championship by providing equipment and donating to their ongoing tennis program.  The tournament took place last weekend in Clemson! We were thrilled to receive the update below from Rob at GE!

Here are some pics. The Hartman Trophy, all the players with banners (blue = Greenville, silver = Atlanta), and Andrea playing wheelchair tennis.

Sydney from Clemson Wheelchair Tennis team was there doing a demo plus had extra chairs for people to try to play in, which was a huge hit.  Mark Posta did the tennis clinic/drills, and that was a huge hit too. Sounds like Mark & Sydney are going to coordinate a wheelchair tennis event with Greenville County Rec too, so that’ll be fun.

We raised $200 for Clemson Wheelchair Tennis during the event,  and one of the retired GEV execs, Steve Hartman, donated $600 to the winning team (GVL) local charity of choice, and $400 to the losing team (ATL) charity of choice, so 3 charities will all benefit from the tournament as well. Overall HUGE success! 😁

Congratulations to our players, Finalists, and Champions in the 70/55 & Over SC State Tournament in Hilton Head this past weekend. It looks like you guys missed the opportunity to have a good time 😂🎾If your team forgot to send a picture, please drop it in the comments so we can celebrate you as well. We are thankful to have such amazing athletes representing UPTA season after season.

Congratulations to our very own on being selected as the recipient of the 2025 USTA South Carolina President’s Award! The following was said during the award ceremony in Hilton Head last month and we could not agree more!!

Each year, the President’s Award honors someone who represents everything wonderful about our tennis community — a person whose leadership, service, and passion bring people together through this sport we all love. This year’s honoree has served USTA South Carolina in countless ways — as a board member, a strategic thinker, a tireless volunteer, and a local leader whose heart for community shines through in everything she does. Her journey is also a wonderful reminder of the power of tennis to connect people. Though she “grew up in a tennis family but never played,” one neighbor’s invitation changed everything. What began as a simple “yes” turned into a lifelong passion, a network of friends, and years of service helping others find the same joy.
