I did Keto in 2021 and it worked! I lost 23lbs!
I did Weight Watchers in 1994 and it worked! I lost 34lbs!
Both of those statements are always followed by, “I gained it all back (plus some), when I stopped.”
Then. It. Didn’t. Work.
If you can’t sustain it, it didn’t actually work.
These two fad diets are years apart - WW I hear from my “older” ladies and Keto I hear from my 30-40 year old ladies, but they both involve ridiculously difficult to maintain standards.
You can’t avoid carbs for the rest of your life and nor should you.
*True medical exceptions obviously apply.
You can’t track via a point’s system (or track your macros) forever.
That’s not how life works.
We’re so hell bent on confirming our beliefs vs accepting truths, that we pigeon hole ourselves into BS insanity that won’t last.
We believe something worked 4 years ago, so let’s do that again.
How’s about we just focus on:
💦 More water, less drinkable calories
☀️ Daily sunshine/outside time
🚶🏻♀️ Daily walks - aim for 30-40 min a day
💪🏽 STRENGTH TRAINING - lift heavy!
🕳️ Don’t eat like an as***le/get at least 100g of protein in daily
➡️ Ignoring super skinny influencers who promote stupid ways to “get tone.”
Yes, there is absolutely value in tracking your macros for 10-14 days. It’s a great visual for you to see what portions look like, to see if your consuming enough protein (you’re not), and if you’re overeating carbs/fat (you are). It is NOT something you can or should do forever.
