Greer, get ready to experience a revolution in recreation! 🏀 We are thrilled to reveal more details about what is coming to our brand-new Sports and Events Center in 2027.

Designed to be a state-of-the-art facility, we will offer comprehensive programming for all ages. We will offer:

Basketball: Youth & adult leagues, for every skill level.

Volleyball: Get ready to serve with both youth and adult options.

Pickleball: America's fastest-growing sport is coming to the Sports and Event Center.

Futsal: Exciting, fast-paced action with youth and adult futsal leagues.

But that’s just the beginning! City of Greer Parks, Recreation & Tourism will utilize the space for:

- Wrestling programs.
- Engaging summer camps for kids.
- Dedicated senior programming.

Rising High on South Highway 14! 🏗️🌆

The skyline in Greer is changing fast, and the Greer Sports and Events Center is making major vertical progress! Our construction updates from early 2026 showcase how this $60 million facility is quickly moving from the ground up to serve our community.

Timeline Update:

January 16, 2026: We watched the incredible process as installation began on the massive pre-cast concrete walls—the very shape of our new championship facility.

March 5, 2026: Vertical momentum continues! With the pre-cast walls complete, the aerial views show the start of structural steel work.

March 17, 2026: Back on the ground, a fundamental milestone: pouring the first interior slab concrete. We are literally paving the way for new courts! 🏀

This facility is a cornerstone of the initiative, engineered not just to solve waitlists for our local youth, but also to drive economic development through sports tourism. The future of recreational programming in Greer is taking shape!

The transformation at South Highway 14 is nothing short of incredible.

The Foundation: In late October, we reached a major milestone with the full building pad in place, setting the stage for everything to come.

The Pour: By November 4th, the site was buzzing as we poured the concrete foundation for our future Championship Gym.

The Framework: Just two weeks later, the forms for our cast-in-place walls were installed, giving us the first real look at the building’s footprint.

This $60 million investment is more than just a construction project—it’s a future home for our local athletes and a premier destination for regional sports tourism.

A Home For The Community

From a vision shared in early 2024 to the massive structure taking shape today, the Greer Sports and Events Center is officially reaching new heights! We just celebrated our "Topping Out" ceremony, marking a major milestone in construction.

This isn't just about steel and concrete—it’s about:

Ending the wait: Recreational facilities means every child in Greer has a chance to play.

Something for everyone: From basketball and volleyball to a fitness center and wrestling room.

Economic growth: Bringing regional events to Greer to support our local shops and businesses.

We’ve come a long way since breaking ground last August. This week we will share the journey from the first shovel to the final beam!
