Why Jiu-Jitsu for Kids?

Why not Kickboxing or Tae Kwon Do or Karate?

While any physical activity is better than nothing, Jiu-Jitsu is the BEST for self-defense.

Why?

Because in Jiu-Jitsu, we learn how to CONTROL our opponent. If your child is attacked by a bully, you want them to have the skills to CONTROL the situation, not escalate it.

But more importantly, when kids learn Jiu-Jitsu, they naturally develop essential life skills like confidence, discipline, perseverance, grit, and work ethic.

The best part? It's FUN! Kids LOVE Jiu-Jitsu!

Starting Jiu-Jitsu can feel intimidating, but here's the thing...

EVERYONE is nervous in the beginning!

People worry about meeting new people, worry about feeling stupid, worry they aren't in good enough shape or that the environment will be too aggressive.

But when you start your 30-Day Trial, you'll quickly see that this is a super chill environment... full of positive and supportive teammates who will help you learn and succeed. We ALL remember what it's like to be a beginner, so everyone is stoked to help you learn!

And IBJJA makes the first step EASY!

Every new student begins their Free Trial with an introductory lesson. A coach will show you around, answer any questions you have, and teach you practical Self-Defense techniques. In fact, you will learn more about Self-Defense in that first class than most people learn their entire LIFE!

After that lesson, you're ready for the group classes. You'll know what's going on and your new teammates will help you along the way.

The catch? Well, there IS no catch!

There's no obligation, and we don't collect any payment information for you to start. It really IS a FREE Trial.

IBJJA is an ACADEMY. This is a place of LEARNING, and helping new students is what we do BEST!

The only thing you need to start is the willingness to be a student. That's it.
