Driving Range & Simulator bays NOW OPEN! Par 3 West was owned and operated by Bob Johnson for the last 25 years. Bob began his career as a Golf Course Superintendent in Spartanburg but retired after 28 years from Hickory K**b State Park. After retirement he dedicated his life to the golf industry. As the Owner and Superintendent of Par 3 West Golf Course in Greenwood, he embodied the spirit of the

game and worked tirelessly to ensure its growth and enjoyment for all. Known for his expertise, he was hailed as a pioneer, being the first Golf Course Superintendent for the state of South Carolina. Bob passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2024, leaving behind three daughters, three grandsons, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter. He touched many lives over the years with his love for people from all walks of life, contagious sense of humor and sharing his vast knowledge. Bob's commitment to his craft and love for the land led him to become a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). He was revered among his peers and affectionately called himself the "Godfather of Soil," a testament to his deep understanding and expertise in his field. His contributions to the golfing community will forever be remembered and treasured. Upon his passing, Par 3 West was left to his three daughters, Tonia Thomas, Heather Seigler Atkinson and Jamie Rachels. With the love and support from not only surrounding golf courses but from his closest friends at the "Table of Knowledge" and the loyal Tuesday night Dogfight, his daughters are continuing his legacy and love for golf at Par 3 West.

Our Par 3 Cares Tournament was a HUGE success, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our players, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the day so special. Together, we nearly raised $5,000 for a great cause! 🙌

From the first tee shot to the final putt, it was a day filled with great golf, great people, and an even greater purpose. THANK YOU to everyone who played, sponsored, donated, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word. Our community showed up in a BIG way, and we know this is only the beginning!

We are so excited about our first Par 3 Cares Charity Tournament benefitting the Elliott Family! This tournament is so much more than golf. It's about coming together as a community, showing up for a family who needs our support, and reminding them that they don't have to face this alone! We can't wait to see everyone out here swing fore a cause! If you've already signed up, your pairing information will be emailed to you so be on the look out for that!

HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY! Please help us support this family!
The Par 3 Cares Event Series was created for one simple reason: to rally around families in Greenwood when life gets hard.
Our first tournament is on Saturday, September 5th and will benefit Paul Elliott and his wife, Jordan. Just two weeks apart, Paul and Jordan each experienced a major medical emergency. Both were healthy before this happened. Today, both are facing ongoing treatments and a road ahead that no young family ever expects to walk, while raising their two young daughters.
We can’t take away what this family is going through. We can’t make the appointments, treatments, and uncertainty disappear.
But we can show up.
We can play a round of golf.
We can bring our friends.
We can make a donation.
We can fill the course.
And we can remind this family that they don’t have to face a difficult season alone.
The proceeds and donations from this event go directly to helping the Elliott family with the ongoing needs that come with everything they are facing.
