For most high school volleyball programs, qualifying for the state tournament is an accomplishment. At Greenwood, it was an expectation. That’s what made last season so unusual. An injury-plagued 2025 campaign ended without a trip to the state tournament, snapping a streak that had lasted over two...

Molly Lunney — Senior Spotlight

For senior Molly Lunney ( #17), Greenwood volleyball has been a part of her life since seventh grade. After first picking up the sport at 11 years old, Lunney has spent the years since developing as an athlete while building friendships that have become like family.

A versatile front-row player who can contribute as both a middle and right-side hitter, Molly enters her final season ready to make the most of every moment with her teammates. “My favorite thing about the Greenwood volleyball program is the friendships that feel like family I have gained.”

That makes her senior season especially meaningful. “I’m looking forward to getting to play my last season with some of my favorite people ever.”

Head Coach Jennifer Golden describes Lunney as “a very dedicated athlete who has demonstrated her commitment not only to volleyball, but to athletics as a whole.” In fact, Molly is the only member of the Greenwood volleyball team who also participates in another fall sport, competing as a member of the GHS Varsity Cheer Team. “Balancing two sports requires commitment, discipline and a willingness to put in the work, and she has consistently shown those qualities.”

The ability to contribute at multiple positions gives Greenwood another valuable option at the net. Combined with her work ethic and Lunney’s willingness to embrace whatever role the team needs makes her a valuable part of the Lady Bulldogs.

Away from the court, Lunney is involved in several organizations at Greenwood. She is a member of National Honor Society, Partners Club and BETA Club, while also balancing her responsibilities as a varsity cheerleader.

After high school, Lunney plans to attend college and pursue a degree in nursing. She has not yet decided where she will continue her education, but she knows she wants to build a career in healthcare.

Hadley Webb — Senior Spotlight

For senior Hadley Webb ( #11), volleyball has been a part of her life since she was just seven years old. A member of the Lady Bulldog program since seventh grade, Webb has spent years developing her skills, building friendships and creating memories that she will carry with her long after her playing days are over.

As a pin hitter/ds, Webb brings athleticism and versatility to the court. Her favorite part of being a Lady Bulldog is, “The connections and friendships I’ve made over the years.”

Now entering her senior season, she is looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish while “coming together as a team and winning.”

Head Coach Jennifer Golden says Hadley is entering the season with plenty of potential after overcoming an injury that kept her off the court in the offseason. After being cleared to return in July, she has been working her way back into volleyball shape and rebuilding her confidence on the court. “Hadley is a very athletic player and possesses the skill set to play both front row and back row,” Golden says. Coach Golden has already seen her confidence beginning to grow since her return, and as Webb continues getting back into playing shape, her athletic ability and skill set will give Greenwood another valuable weapon.

But Hadley’s impact isn’t limited to her physical ability. “She’s a great leader both vocally and by her actions on and off the court,” Golden says. Her ability to communicate with teammates while leading by example makes Webb someone her teammates can go to when things get tough.

Away from the volleyball court, she is a dedicated student and an active member of her community. She maintains a 3.9 GPA, is involved in Partners Club and Math Club, and has earned a place on the Honor Roll. She also spends time giving back through volunteer work at Brookhill Ranch summer camp and Girls Inc.

After high school, Hadley plans to attend college, although she has not yet decided where. She hopes to major in psychology before continuing her education and eventually earning a doctorate in occupational therapy.
