Curious about what a Vinyasa or Slow Flow class looks like at Studio You Yoga? 👀
Vinyasa originated from Hatha Yoga - moving through poses intentionally and with purpose, linking breath with movement. At Studio You, our slow flow classes move through postures more slowly, and are often more accessible for beginners or those looking for a more relaxed practice.
The structure at Studio You is consistent - but the flows vary! Modern Vinyasa classes allow freedom for the instructor to sequence poses in a way truly unique to their style and vibe. We encourage clients to try classes of the same style from numerous instructors to experience the full array of what a vinyasa class can be!
Instructors might also say “take a vinyasa” (or offer for you to skip it!). This refers to a portion of a Sun Salutation. These four poses can ALWAYS be skipped, and there are several modifications for each pose to make to accessible to most clients.
We have MANY vinyasa and slow flow teachers! This pretty much ensures that you can find a class with a vibe that you enjoy! There is at least one vinyasa/slow flow class at the studio each day. If you have any questions, reach out to any staff member at Studio You Yoga - we all love chatting about yoga and helping others experience the positive impact a yoga practice can have on mental, emotional, and physical health!
