Night Hikes 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽 Night Dives

Just like our dive routine, after the sun set, our group set off on a guided nature walk with Jenny and Pedro at Black Rock Lodge. Along the trail, we met the midnight jungle crew: leaf‑cutter ants, toads, tree frogs, snakes, and even tarantulas. Seeing the scorpions glowing with fluorescence under the UV light reminded us all of our favorite underwater magic! 🌌

‘The Kids’ split off today and opted to take a tour of Tikal National Park in Guatemala. Tikal is one of the largest archeological sites of the Maya Civilization, encompassing 570 square kilometers (220 square miles). It boasts 5 towering temples, the largest which reaches 60 meters (180 feet) tall!! The oldest known structures in Tikal date all the way back to 1000 BC.

Tikal had its five minutes of fame in 1977 when its skyline was used as the Rebel Base Camp on the planet Yavin 4.

There were many local creatures who showed their cute faces today including an Ocellated Turkey and many Coatis! And, of course, a tour wouldn’t be complete without a local meal to top it off! 🇬🇹 🍽️
