Back in late Dec, we hosted an international client from Mexico to target his black ducks with only a day in our pockets to hunt. As naturally as hunting goes some days, on the morning of our hunt after pushing off several hundred birds, there was nearly no morning movement. That was the day as a whole even after bouncing to a few other areas. Still, calm, mild, not much of a day for ducks.
Over dinner we figured we would get a solid hour or so the next morning to give another reliable area a shot, before I had to get them back to the hotel so they could catch their flights. A frantic hour it was to collect birds, photos, high fives, and a very alive stud drake black duck that we thought got away. Cant hide from a good dog's nose! Looking forward to hosting our first international turkey client next spring too!
