It’s a big week for girls flag football in North Carolina! 🏈

The inaugural season of NCHSAA-sanctioned girls flag football is officially underway. It’s an exciting new chapter for a sport that continues to grow across the state.

What began with just 19 participating schools in 2022 has grown to more than 150 schools across North Carolina.

We’ve had a front-row seat to that growth here in Eastern North Carolina. Over the past two years, girls flag football has taken the field at high schools across our region and right here in Pitt County.

As the first official season gets underway, we’re excited to celebrate how far the game has come and the opportunities ahead for female athletes in our community and across the state.

The Little League Softball World Series returns to Greenville-Pitt County for the 6th year, bringing 12 teams from across the U.S. and around the world to compete August 2–9. This incredible event is expected to generate an estimated $1.6 million in economic impact for our community while showcasing everything that makes Greenville-Pitt County a great place to visit.

🎉 The fun starts before the tournament begins!

Join us for the FREE Opening Ceremony on Saturday, August 1, from 6–8 p.m. at Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park as we welcome the teams to Greenville! Enjoy:
